In every profession, the most respected honor one can receive is praise from one's peers. In law as well, the best lawyers are often the ones who are talked about by other lawyers, judges, clients and advocates of the law and society.
After three decades of practicing law in New York and Florida, Mark Zientz continues to be lauded by colleagues in his field and at the forefront of his profession. He is an advocate for change on behalf of injured workers and a voice of righteousness in an otherwise muted area of the law. He has received numerous awards and accolades levied directly by his peer community; honors that began early on in his career.
Mr. Zientz is the attorney responsible for handling the appeals in over 200 cases in which the appellate court issued a written opinion. Mr. Zientz handled many of these cases at the trial level as well.
Mr. Zientz is the Chair of the Workers' Compensation Section of the Florida Bar. He is a past President of the Friends of 440, Inc., a director of the Friends of 440 Scholarship Fund and a former Vice-Chairman of the Workers' Compensation Rules Committee of the Florida Bar. Mr. Zientz is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell, an arbitrator for the National Football League Players Association/ Management Council and a member of the faculty of the Workers Compensation Trial Advocacy Seminar since its inception.
Mr. Zientz was recently selected by Florida Super Lawyers through an extensive process of balloting, blue ribbon panel review and independent research. Only 5% of Florida attorneys have been selected for 2007 Florida Super Lawyers.
In addition to Florida, where he currently lives and practices, Mr. Zientz is also admitted to practice law in the State of New York, where he served as a Kings County Assistant District Attorney from 1971 to 1974, and the State of Montana, where he was admitted in 1996. Mr. Zientz is also admitted to practice law in the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Zientz attended primary school in New York City, received his Bachelor of Science degree from New York University (1964), and then received his J.D. Degree from Brooklyn Law School (1971). In 1988 he became Florida Bar Board Certified in Workers’ Compensation.
