Larry S. Rifkin is an attorney specializing in all aspects of Immigration and Nationality Law. He graduated from Pace University School of Law in 1980 and received his B.A. Degree from Rutgers College in 1977. He has extensive experience in all areas of Immigration and Nationality Law including nonimmigrant visas, immigrant visas, labor certificates, inadmissibility, removal, and naturalization.

Mr. Rifkin is a member of the Executive Board and is a Past President of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), South Florida Chapter. In addition, he is a past member of the Board of Governors of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) with headquarters in Washington, D.C. The American Immigration Lawyers Association is an affiliated organization of the American Bar Association and is the national association of lawyers who specialize in Immigration and Nationality Law.

Mr. Rifkin is also Chair of the Administrative Law Committee and the Sub-Committee on Immigration for the Florida Bar's International Law Section and he is a Past Chair of the International Law Section of the Florida Bar Association. The Florida Bar Association is the organization which licenses and regulates all attorneys who practice in the State of Florida. In his position on behalf of the Florida Bar, Mr. Rifkin coordinates educational programs on Immigration and Nationality Law presented to members of the Florida Bar for the purpose of advancing their professional competence. Mr. Rifkin is also a frequent lecturer on Immigration and Nationality Law. He has been the recipient of many awards in recognition of his outstanding service to the International Law Section of The Florida Bar with regard to coordinating the Continuing Legal Education Program in the area of U.S. Immigration and Nationality Law.

Mr. Rifkin was an inaugural member of the Florida Bar Immigration and Nationality Law Certification Committee. This committee is charged with the preparation and administration of the requirements and a special examination given to practitioners in the area of Immigration and Nationality Law who seek to designate themselves as Board Certified Specialists in Immigration and Nationality Law. As an inaugural member of this committee and an architect of the examination, Mr. Rifkin was exempt from taking the exam and is a Board-Certified Immigration Law Specialist.

Mr. Rifkin has published numerous articles on Immigration and Nationality Law in official Florida Bar publications including The Florida Bar International Law Quarterly and The Florida Bar Journal; and in the American University Law Review. He has authored Florida Bar consumer publications entitled U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents and Employment Based Non-Immigrant and Immigrant Visas and regular Immigration Updates. Mr. Rifkin is also a co-author of The Visa Processing Guide, Process and Procedures at US Consulates and Embassies, Second through Eighth editions and the 2003-2004, 2004-2005, 2005-2006, 2006-2007, 2007-2008, 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 editions. This book is published by the American Immigration Lawyers Association and is a resource material for attorneys who practice in the area of Immigration and Nationality Law.

Mr. Rifkin has testified as an expert in Immigration and Nationality Law in both Federal and State Court and he was counsel in the Matter of Vazquez (AAO July 31, 2007) which established the legal precedent in defining who qualifies as a Cuban national. This decision has had major implications for individuals of Cuban heritage, who were born outside of Cuba, who seek to immigrate to the United States.

Mr. Rifkin is the managing partner of the law firm of Rifkin & Fox-Isicoff, P.A. Mr. Rifkin, individually, and the firm have received the highest rating from Martindale-Hubbell - "AV" with regard to legal competence and ethics. Martindale-Hubbell is an organization that periodically surveys attorneys and judges in the area in which an attorney is practicing. Mr. Rifkin is listed in Law & Leading Attorneys as a Leading Florida Attorney and "The Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers." Fewer than 6% of the state's attorneys are accorded the designation of Leading Florida Attorney. He was also recently listed in South Florida Legal Guide as one of South Florida's top lawyers.
