Jacqueline Schneider is a Board Certified Elder Law Attorney and the founder of the law firm of Jacqueline Schneider, P.A. She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center and has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1996. Her firm offers services in elder law; wills, trusts and estate planning; Medicaid and long-term care planning; special needs trusts; planning for incapacity or disability, powers of attorney and health care advance directives; probate and guardianship. She is also a Certified Circuit Court Mediator with a focus on probate, guardianship and civil mediation.
Ms. Schneider is an Adjunct Professor at St. Thomas University School of Law, where she teaches in the Elder Law Clinic. She also taught a Professional Guardianship course at Broward Community College. She serves as Chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Florida Bar's Elder Law Section, and also serves on the Guardianship Committees for the Florida Bar’s Elder Law Section and its Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section. She serves on the Ethics Committee of the Florida State Guardianship Association (FSGA) and is a member of the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys (AFELA), the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and the Florida Bioethics Network (FBN).
Before she founded Jacqueline Schneider, P.A., Ms. Schneider practiced elder law with Jerome Ira Solkoff, P.A., served as a Judicial Staff Attorney in the Probate Division of the Broward County Courts and was the Court’s Director of Probate and Guardianship Services. She has also practiced in the area of civil litigation and served as Vice Chair for the Florida Bar Committee on the Unlicensed Practice of Law for the Eleventh Circuit.
Ms. Schneider has recently completed collaboration on the first phase of a special project – “Case Studies in Ethics and Guardianship†– in conjunction with the FSGA. The effort was supported by a grant from the Statewide Public Guardianship Office in Florida’s Department of Elder Affairs.
